The WSF's Seven Year Itch

Submitted by Adam Ma'anit on January 29, 2007 - 4:01pm.

I recently submitted this post on the Guardian's Comment is Free section which has started a little bit of a discussion. Please join in and contribute your own thoughts about these issues. It's a good opportunity to get some kind of debate going about the Social Forum process, reflections, criticisms, anecdotes, etc.

Here's also a couple of interesting reflections I've come across:

Firoze Manji (Kenyan editor of the African weekly newsletter Pambazuka News) saw a lot of NGOs at the WSF but wonders what happened to the politics?

OneWorld South Asia has an interesting analysis by Kathambi Kinoti of the Association for Women's Rights in Development.

I'm sure that more will emerge in the next few days as people return home and have time to think about the past weeks' events. I'm in the process of compiling a list of weblogs that have covered the World Social Forum this year, which I'll post soon.
